Opera Montana presents Steven Sondheim's chilling classic, opening at the Ellen Theatre this week.
Sweeney Todd runs Jan. 30-Feb. 2 and Feb. 6-9.
Sweeney Todd tells the story of Benjamin Barker, a barber wrongly sentenced to life in prison in Australia by the lecherous Judge Turpin. Sweeney escapes prison and returns to London where he learns that his daughter is in the clutches of Turpin and his wife has died. Partnering with Mrs. Lovett, the entrepreneurial pie shop owner downstairs, Sweeney goes on a quest for vengeance that eventually spins into madness and tragedy.
