Mountain Dance Festival in Missoula
UM School of Theatre and Dance presents Mountain Dance Festival July 17-22 in Missoula
MISSOULA – The University of Montana School of Theatre & Dance will host the second annual Mountain Dance Festival Monday through Saturday, July 17-22.
This year’s festival will provide professional and pre-professional dancers with the opportunity to receive expert training in contemporary technique, dance for camera, dance improvisation, site-specific composition, yoga, Pilates and more.
Registration for the full festival costs $250 through Thursday, June 1, before increasing to $275. Several a la carte registration options also are available and can be purchased online athttp://www.mountaindancefest.com/registerhere/registration.
The festival will culminate with evening-length performances by GERALDCASELDANCE, this year’s company in residence, at 7:30 p.m. Friday, July 21, and Saturday, July 22, in the Open Space, located in Room 005 of UM’s Performing Arts and Radio/Television Center. Tickets cost $15 for the general public and $10 for students, children and seniors. They can be purchased in advance online at http://www.mountaindancefest.com/register/ or at the door. The cutting-edge dance collective from San Francisco also will present classes in somatics, technique, partnering and more during the festival.
