Summer arts Camps for kids Zootown Arts Community Center
Ready for summer?
We take special care to create the best curriculums possible with the most talented, experienced, and innovative instructors that Missoula has to offer. We accept a maximum of 15 kids in each camp in order to make sure each child gets adequate attention and quality instruction. Each camp is aimed at creating community connections, building self esteem, and helping youth to access their creative voice.
If you wish to hold your spot in camp without paying for the whole camp in advance, you may do so with a $50 non-refundable deposit.

Vaudeville Camp
Monday June 19 - Friday June 23
9:00 am - 12:00 pm
Students will learn how they did it in the old days, by creating their own Vaudeville Variety show. They'll write silly songs, tell sillier jokes, and develop the silliest sketches. If you have a kid who does it all, this is the camp for them. Camp will culminate in a performance for parents and friends on the Friday of camp.
Slapstick Comedy Camp
Monday June 19 - Friday June 23
1:00 pm - 4:00 pm
Students will learn the fundamentals of physical comedy, including how to run into walls, trip and fall, and engage in fisticuffs all in the name of having a good-old fashioned, side-splitting good time. There will be a showcase for parents and friends during the last session of class.
Radio DJ Camp
Monday July 10 - Friday July 14
9:00 am - 12:00 pm
Kids will create a radio ad, make a radio drama, meet local musicians, sound artists and special guests from the world of Missoula radio. Learn how to make sound effects, review music, record and edit sound. The camp ends with a live 1-hour broadcast on 105.5 KFGM.
Music Tech Camp
Monday July 10 - Friday July 14
1:00 pm - 4:00 pm
Campers will learn about instrument set-up, amplifiers, effects, microphones and more. The best way to learn is by doing and exploring. This camp features a field trip the Top Hat Lounge for a live sound-check and is taught by local professionals. Learn how amplifiers work, and gain the confidence to set up your own band and buy your own musical equipment!
Art For The People Camp
Monday July 24 - Friday July 28
9:00 am - 12:00 pm
In this camp, students will make art in the spirit of generosity and brightening others' days. Campers will choose people, places, causes, or things that are important to them and create art projects to give to those in need. Each day campers will choose a different recipient of the art they make and deliver it.
Puppet Theater Camp
Monday July 31 - August 4
1:00 pm - 4:00 pm
In this camp, we will design and build our own puppets and stage set, write our own puppet show, and perform for an audience on the last day of class.
