Exciting event returns to Bigfork — this time on Bigfork Bay

The 2019  Montana Dragon Boat Race & Festival returns to Bigfork — where it began in Montana seven years ago.

The Montana Dragon Boat Festival has become a favorite since its founding in 2012, when the competition was at Flathead Lake Lodge in Bigfork. The move to Bigfork Bay promises calm waters and smooth paddling, event organizers said.

The 2019 Montana Dragon Boat Festival is Sept. 7-8 The Bigfork Area Chamber of Commerce will be organizing this year’s event. While the change of venue and organizer promises new and exciting activities and races, Kevin Kwan and his team from Elemental Dragon Boats will continue as the race director.

The move to Bigfork also provides the opportunity to stay, play, shop and recreate within walking distance of the Montana Dragon Boat Festival. The 2019 festival will be held on Grand Drive, just a few steps from Bigfork’s Electric Avenue.
